The A to Z Handbook series are written by practitioners at the European Training Centre in Paris to provide straightforward practical support to those involved in the programming, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Operational Programmes supported by the Structural and Cohesion Funds of the European Union. Each handbook is written in the personal style of the author aiming for a blend of practical and light hearted text and a minimum of complexity.

Colm DUNNE's A to Z Guide to indicators in the European Union Funds
The aim of this book is not to provide definitive answers but to give a personal explanation of indicators that hopefully makes some sense to everyone involved in managing or implementing some aspect of the structural funds operational programmes. The book will no doubt be considered too simple by some and inaccurate by others. I make no apology for simplicity as it is in the spirit of the current regulations that seeks a “small set of output and results indicators”. I am also not too concerned to about accusation of inaccuracy as this implies that there is a consensus view of indicators. If such a view existed, there would not be such a high demand for guidance!
