2007-2013 Closure

The European Commission has adopted the 2007-2013 Closure Guidelines for cohesion policy programmes on 20 March 2013. ETCP organises in Brussels from 8 to 9 April a special event on “The Success conditions for N+2 and Closure” to help you to better anticipate closure conditions and steps to monitor and limit the risk of decommitment.

The Connecting Europe Facility

The Connecting Europe Facility should be created to develop transnational energy, transport and telecommunication infrastructures: The financial envelope of €29, 2 billion (instead of the €50 billion forecasted by the Commission) should be divided as such: €23 billion for transport, €5 billion for energy and €1 billion for telecommunications (transferred from Cohesion Fund – instead of the 9,2 billion initially planned by the Commission)

2014-2020 Budget: EPRC Study about new allocation of Structural and Cohesion Funds

Following European Council conclusions, on 7-8 February, announcing reduction of the budget and creation of new categories of regions “Transition regions”. A study of European Policies Research Centre is asking the crucial question “who are the winners and the losers?”. According to their study, they highlight, for example,that 9 countries appears to receive more allocations, such as Slovakia, Romania, Poland with more that 10% change in Cohesion policy allocations from 2007-2013 to 2014-20.

European Council supports the Youth Employment Initiative

The president of the European Council proposed during the negotiations of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2014-2020 to create the Youth Employment Initiative. The Initiative will be open to all regions (at the NUTS level 2) and should provide funds to support youth employment for regions with levels of youth unemployment above25%.
