The EU has a responsibility to be transparent about the spending of public money. A map is available online which provides direct links to lists of the beneficiaries of the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund. The linked websites are managed by the respective Member State who, under the rules governing the implementation of the funds 2014-2020 (EU No 1303/2013), must publish the name of the beneficiary, the activity and the amount of public funding allocated. Financial Instruments delivering ESI Funds: Munich -14&15 November

European Commission encourages the use of financial instruments and adopted a few month ago, 2 new “off-the-shelf”, i.e. “ready-to-use” financial instruments for ESI Funds investments. Young businesses and urban development project promoters will have easier access to funding. Anti-Fraud: Bulgaria at the top of the class

The Director of the European Anti-Fraud Office / OLAF / Giovanni Kessler, presented in the European Parliament an annual report of the institution, according to which Bulgaria is among the countries with the least detected irregularities in the carrying out of EU-sponsored projects. In Bulgaria there have been 513 instances of irregularities working with EU Funds. In Spain their number is 6 853, in Romania – 3 606, in the Czech Republic – 2 788, in Germany – 1 308. In Bulgaria, irregularities affect only 1.5% of the payments made, while in Slovakia, for example, this percentage is 15, in the Czech Republic -6

H2020 Simplification Survey report: A very positive picture

Simplification is one of the major features of Horizon 2020 with a radically new user-focused approach. Launched in 2015 after the first 20 months of Horizon 2020, the survey was addressed to actual participants in on-going H2020 projects. It aimed to collect feedback on the impact of simplification measures already in place and to gather ideas for further simplification measures which could be applied in the future.
