In July 2017 Estonia has taken over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Driven by the motto ‘Unity through balance’ the Estonian Presidency aims to tackle the burning challenges Europe is facing today, focusing on these four priorities:

• an open and innovative economy
• a safe and secure Europe
• a digital Europe and the free movement of data
• an inclusive and sustainable Europe
