For a decade, the European Commission has been working to reduce the surcharges that telecom operators imposed on their customers each time they crossed used their mobile device abroad. On 1 February 2017 the EU negotiated wholesale prices, taking one step closer towards the end of roaming charges. “Roam like at Home” – where customers pay domestic prices, irrespective of where they are traveling in the EU – will become a reality for all European travellers as of 15 June 2017.
